If you want to work as an Assistant in a Childcare Centre, a Nanny or a Family Day Care provider it is recommended that you complete the Certificate III in Children's Services. If you want to work as a Group Leader (be in charge of a group of children) in a Childcare Centre, you must complete the Diploma in Children's Services. If you want to work as a Director of a Childcare Centre you must complete the Advanced Diploma in Children's Services or a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood. If you want to work as a Personal Carer/Assistant in Nursing, you must complete the Certificate III in Aged Care Work. Graduates can find employment in community services such as Health Monitoring, Personal Care, Environmental and Social Support and Information and Advocacy; in aged care services such as Community Nursing, Home Help, Day Care centres, Hostels, Nursing Homes and Acute Care and in Information Services. Lifetime International Training College offers both child care and aged care courses in external studies mode.
Assessment of your competency in Aged Care and Childcare Courses requires practical experience in an Aged Care/ Childcare Service. Your teacher will discuss your course requirements with you and plan a program of practical work experience to suit your individual needs and circumstances.
- What study modes are
available at Lifetime International Training College?
- A student may study externally.
- A student may study externally and attend tutorials.
- A student may study externally and attend nightly classes.
- A student may attend day classes full time.
Students enter course from date of enrolment and finish when
all competencies are successfully completed. The students in
classroom mode will all be rotating through at a different leve,
instead of all students commencing and finishing together. Each
student has His/Her own personal course which continues until
all competencies are completed.
Students may study online.
Students are not paid for work experience.
A government service in each state offers current wage values.

You will need to request a payment plan. Payment plans are only available by Automatic Direct Debit. Our staff will be happy to discuss these options with you. Contact us.
Yes, at times depending on personal circumstances. Each student will need to discuss their individual case with Centrelink. Our courses are AusStudy approved.
Yes, your teacher can be contacted at any time by phone, fax or email. Be assured that your teacher will make it a priority to get in contact with you when needed.
A computer is not essential, however strongly reccomended. Lifetime has student computers on campus. A computer with internet access at
All materials for our course will be made available to you.
We strongly advice each student to become a member of a local
library. Your teacher can support you with accessing all
relevant information without further costs. Once enrolled
students will be given a student ID which allows membership to
the student part of the web site.
This gives access to study links and student forums.
Yes:
- For child care, you must be 17 years old.
- For aged care, you must be 16 years old.
- You are never too old to enrol in our courses!
No one is too old to enrol in our courses!

Yes. Some centres will employ you and support your study and training before you have completed your course.
Aged Care – Certificate III: 10 weeks MINIMUM
Child Care – Certificate III: 20 weeks MINIMUM
Diploma: 41 weeks MINIMUM
Because our program is flexible, enabling our students to work
at their own pace, these times are intended as a guide only.
Credit Transfer means exemption from studying units of competency from a qualification granted to students on the basis of outcomes gained previously through participation in courses or nationally recognised training package qualifications with another Registered Training Organisation or a University.
To apply for credit transfer, students must supply LITC with certified copies of Statement(s) of Results or Academic Transcript(s) from the previous RTO/University.
