National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program (NSCSWP)

Course Outline:
In August 2010, the Australian Government announced that a further $222 million would be provided so that existing schools funded under the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP) could have their funding extended to the end of 2014. In addition these funds will support up to 1,000 additional schools, including those in rural, remote and disadvantaged locations to access support under the Program.

Under the funding guidelines, the minimum requirements for existing and new Chaplains are the completion of the following units of competencies or subjects, adapted from the Community Services Training Package are:
1. CHCCS422A
Respond holistically to client issues and refer appropriately
2. CHCMH301B
Work effectively in mental health

This means that existing Chaplains must have completed the above units of competencies, as shown in the above document. Lifetime offers both these subjects externally online, which means convenience for your busy schedule. You need to do this to continue to receive funding.
